God in nature!

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.17 For therein is revealed a righteousness of God from faith unto faith: as it is written, But the righteous shall live by faith.18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hinder the truth in unrighteousness;19 because that which is known of God is manifest in them; for God manifested it unto them.20 For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made…..

I enjoy doing anything in nature.  I love the regenerating aroma of fresh air when you are in the middle of God’s creation.  If you look closely at creation (i.e. the trees, the ocean, the birds, the clouds, the rain, mankind, etc.) you can not help but see God.  As Paul states in Romans chapter 1, God makes the invisible things visible for His Glory.  Have you ever wondered why we don’t see God in many aspects of our life?  Maybe it is because we are overly wrapped up in the things of man instead of the things of God.  Maybe we spend too much time in front of the computer or the TV.  Maybe we see man but we completely miss God.  I propose that we all step away from the xbox and step out into nature, go on a hike, breath in some fresh air.  Take time to surround yourself with the things of God.

Rainy and Dreary

Sometimes I love a good rainy and “dreary” day.  Slightly dark with just enough light, cool but not too cold, some good music, maybe a book or movie.  Throw in a fire or dim lamp lighting and it is a great day.  These days are sometimes so much fun because you feel as if you can just slow down a little bit.  Take today for example….. I am sitting in my cubicle at work and occasionally I glance out my window into the beauty of God’s creation.  Soak it in! Slow down!  Read something today from the Word of God!  Man He is so sweet!

Peru 2

Peru was amazing!  Often times it is easy for us to get comfortable with our day to day routines.  It may take a visit to a foreign country to force us out of that comfort zone.  Peru did just that for me!

Lima is an amazing place.  The culture is so cool.  They have a great city, a beach, and great coffee; what more do you need.  Haurochiri was somewhat of a culture shock for me.  There is this significant smell that lingers all day and night, oh and these buses that come into town at 1am and 4am, did I say they honk their horns a lot!!! I fell in love with the people of Haurochiri, my favorite part was getting to play soccer with the kids.  Here is a shout out to my boy Miguel, “Como Se llama?”.

I can’t wait to take the Juniors and Seniors from The Edge back with me in June.  I am so stoked about seeing them experience God like I did.  Thank you all again for your prayers and support.  I was able to see and to share the love of Christ in a place no longer so “foreign” to me!

To Peru

Here we are, sitting on the 767 in Miami waiting for takeoff. It is kind of funny, looking at our plane mates it looks like everyone is going home but us. Matt, Aaron, and I are as ready for Lima and Haurochiri as we are going to be. God is good. May we spread the Joy and Love of Jesus for his Glory and renown. Thank you all for your prayers and support. See you all upon our return.

Traffic

Have you ever driven in heavy traffic on the interstate or the Freeway? It always seems to amaze me how many people just have to get somewhere, and fast. Maybe you’ve traveled through a highly conjested airport like Hartsfield-Jackson in Atlanta and been bombarded with weary travelers all rushing to thier next stop. Whatever it is, traffic can be consuming and unpredictable. Personally, I find it amazing how many different people you can bump into while in a high traffic area. People from “all over” and people going to “all over”. It could be such a great opportunity for the church or the ecclessia to reach out to all ethne if we would just stop and speak with one single person in these times. We could spread the good news of the Gospel to someone that may meet someone, that meets someone, that meets someone, that lives in the farthest reaches of the world. Take time today, share the love of Jesus with someone today and start an infectious spread of the good news for the Glory of God.

It’s Gone!

OK so I wrote a blog entry this morning discussing the joys of fantasy sports from my phone and it is gone forever. I have determined that the Lord has taken my blog entry directly into heaven on a flaming chariot because of it’s phonetic genious. So Enoch and my blog, what bliss!

The Great Juggler!

Picture with me if you will, the world’s greatest juggler. For no specific purpose we will call this juggler by the name of Pierre Boyardee the third (not to be confused with the delectable canned soups). We will just say PB3 for short. I prefer to picture my jugglers as short French men with wonderful curled mustaches. Ok so here we are, looking at PB3, the greatest juggler to ever master the art of tossing random objects in the air. PB3 jumps onto his unicycle and begins to demonstrate his impeccable sense of balance, after no time at all he is up and running. His assistant, lil Rodeo, throws the first ball in the direction of PB3. One ball, two ball, three balls, oh my. Ok, so I’m not impressed, I’ve seen this before. Now PB3 steps down to the ground from his brilliant blue unicycle and onto a quickly moving treadmill. Once again lil Rodeo doesn’t miss a beat, accept this time it is flaming swords. Woah, now I’m impressed. One, two, three, oh my, four, five, six, no way, seven flaming swords of death are being flung around in great circles under the control of the great Pierre Boyardee the third. I have never seen such a feat.
Not so different from the magnificent feat of Pierre Boyardee the third is our everyday lives. We seem to be so overwhelmed, even to the point of collapse. We take on work, school, family, friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, husbands, wives, hobbies, church. No wonder we eat so much fast food, we are running a million miles a second! One cannot help but ask, has it always been this way? Is it supposed to be this way? Maybe you are tired of putting on a show like the great PB3. Maybe you are weary of tossing so many different things in an art of juggling only to seemingly find your peril. Maybe you are hurt from a past relationship or loss. I hope that whatever you are going through you can find rest. I pray that you can find true rest that will satisfy your thirst. Matthew 11:28-30 reminds us that Jesus is the only true place to find rest. Jesus is the only place to hide and be regenerated. Rest your burdens in the Lord for His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
